Academic ERP Training
Training is an essential component of any academic ERP implementation. At
Three Rivers Systems, our well-developed and successful training program culminates in immediate mastery of
CAMS® Enterprise
and is tailored to meet your specific institutional needs. We have re-engineered training, implementation and data migration into a highly refined, efficient and methodical process. This client-validated process reduces cost, time spent and campus disruptions.
Training workshops are held on the institution’s campus, enabling maximum participation of users with minimal interruption. Three Rivers Systems conducts general training sessions as well as sessions focused on particular functions like admissions, billing and registration, using a blend of lecture-style and hands-on lab-style settings as needed.
The first onsite training is often scheduled a few weeks after installation of the CAMS system. During this time, project managers will work with your institution to identify key members of your implementation team who will become resources for your institution. We then train these people using the included CAMS training database, enabling them to learn the system and begin training other users while the institution’s data migration is being conducted.
At Three Rivers Systems, we see implementation as an iterative process in which installation, training and data migration must be carefully synchronized. When the first round of data migration is completed, another training takes place, this time using the institution’s own data. In keeping with our efficiency-driven implementation model, these subsequent training rounds do double duty. During these sessions trainees verify the accuracy of the data migration, even as they refine their skills on the system. By knowing the data is there, is correct and waiting for them, users receive an added boost of confidence before the system goes “live.”
Just prior to going live, Three Rivers Systems conducts a final training session geared toward all end-users. A typical session features mock exercises in areas such as registration, financial aid and student records, exercising the system with real-world scenarios and ensuring users are comfortable doing their jobs. Typically, this comprehensive training includes taking a hypothetical applicant through the entire student lifecycle — from admissions to alumnus status. Trainees learn to admit students, produce reports, manage transcripts and a host of other skills just as if they were using a “live” CAMS Enterprise system.
With CAMS Enterprise’s intuitive user interface and comprehensive training program, the process of learning a new system is clean and clear. Implementations are smooth transitions from the old system to CAMS.
